The photo was taken in mid-December 2013 during Christmas. The use of a fixed lens allowed me to close more the frame and physically move to get to include the Schweppes building windows reflecting the sun. The idea was to slow down the exposure with density filters to get to draw the wake of the cars and wait for the sign be illuminated. Then I realized I would have to sacrifice the color palette offered me by the buildings in the early evening of this cold day in Madrid. So I decided to capture the magic realism that offered me the Gran Via: the same colors that are reflected in the paintings of the old Madrid and that will last over time.
