Originally from Madrid, Miguel Alonso moved to New York in 1996 where his career as a photographer started at New York’s School of Visual Arts. He knows how to capture the rich contemporary essence of the cities he photographs, ranging from New York to Angkor Wat, Buenos Aires, Kuala Lumpur, Kyoto, Sao Paolo, Seoul and many others around the world.
Alonso’s work has been at the contemporary Art Museum of LI New York, ‘NY Art Expo’ and ‘ART 212’ held at the Armory in New York City. His collection “Barcelona Diseño”, commissioned by Sir Terence Conran, London’s acclaimed designer and book writer, toured New York, London and Paris. LALIQUE Paris selected his solo work “New Light City” for their flagship boutique at Madison Avenue, and the Roger Smith Art Gallery in New York showed “MANYC”.
Alonso’s photographs have also been selected by organizations and companies, as a way to develop their brand through the integration of modernist photography, and his artistic work has been cited in Vogue Paris, The New York Times, New York Magazine, The New York Observer, as well as in several interior design magazines and fairs.
